How do I stay organized with a busy life?

I can't lie, I keep a busy schedule from day to day life. From classes to working two jobs and all sorts of other things in between I find it overwhelming at times. One thing that I can't stress enough that has been helpful in my life is keeping a physical planner with me. I jot down the random little to-do tasks I need to do throughout the week for assignments and work schedules. It can get confusing in there at times so I color-code everything depending on what it is. For example, classes have colors specifically for them no matter if it is an assignment, meeting, etc. Both jobs have their own separate color so I can distinguish which is which so I don't get them mixed up. I color code student council (GeekRho), DND, Gardening Club, appointments, etc. It helps keep my head straight and know when I need to do things and when I can just have a chill day.

There were a couple of different studies done about how you get a boost of serotonin when you cross a task off of a to-do list, and I believe in that. It makes me feel like I am accomplishing something even if it isn't a major task.

I think another way that I stay organized it giving myself time to wind down, taking little breaks throughout the day. Not taking on homework during meal times to taking time for myself before bed so I am not just going back and forth from school to sleep to work to sleep and on and on and on. Taking time for yourself helps your mental and physical health. And if neither of those is doing well then your whole balance is off.

I tend to play some games and watch a show/movie, self-care is a must at least a couple times a week, as reading and spending time with the people that make me happy in life. On the weekends I tend to kind of do a reset time just cleaning up random things in my room, dishes, and laundry, (my car is planned to be cleaned soon). If I have assignments that I need to get done then I will before going to work so I don't have to stress about them after I get off later in the day.


I can't stress enough organization, it helps me every day to keep going .
